The Hermis Hotel is a hotel complex and is located in the town of Agios Nikolaos Lasithi. Our company carried out measurements with the 3D Laser Scanner and rendered 3D point clouds for the entire building complex and the building’s facilities in order to create plans according to the needs of the designer who undertook the reconstruction of the hotel. The project assigned to XYZ was the As Built production of plans and the delivery of 3D Virtual Tour for renovation purposes. It is a special case as the scanning process brought together the seven buildings that are in contact and intertwining with each other to form a coherent whole. In each of the 206 rooms, 6 stops of the Terrestrial Laser Scanner were required, as there were obstacles (furniture and objects) in the area.

Then, the information from each scan was combined into a single point cloud (cloud of points) with the process of registration and with this cloud 2D drawings with architectural details were produced. The level of detail in the plans (LOD) was according to the needs of the team of researchers (Architects, Architects, Engineers) working on the reconstruction, and was adapted to the requirements of each area. A 3D BIM model was finally produced from the drawing production process.
